Newsletter March, 17, 2021: BOGO + Rainbow Pop 🌈✨

BOGO!!

Spring is in the air! It's time for a little stash spring cleaning, so to help with that, all my patterns on Ravelry are buy one pattern get one of equal or lesser value FREE (including Rainbow Pop)! This sale will run through the end of March, and no coupon code is required 😘 Here are just a few of the shawl designs included in the sale!

Rainbow Pop

Introducing Rainbow Pop, pattern No. 12 in the 20in20 collection! The Rainbow Pop socks are ideal for hand-dyed speckled and variegated yarns. The slipped stitches mix up the colors, preventing extreme pooling.

Since this is a slipped stitch pattern, there is less stretch than regular stockinette. For this reason, you might consider going up a needle size for the leg. If I make these again, I will be doing that as the leg is a little tighter than I would like. This pattern also works well as shorties!

The grey with rainbow speckles is Jimmy's Sock - I Knew You Were Trouble from Haute Knit Yarn. There is zero pooling and the slipped stitches worked well with the pops of color - hence the name, Rainbow Pop! The shorties are made with Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sock - Dawn Patrol. This is a limited edition color from Jimmy Beans Wool that is no longer available. However, there are tons of other gorgeous variegated colors that would look just as lovely! I particularly love the way the slipped stitches broke up the natural pooling of the colors!

I am so excited about this design. You may not believe it, but this will eventually turn into fingerless mitts! It's a very different construction from usual, and it's taking some time for me to figure out how to get the shape right. They are coming soon though!!!

A Postcard for you!

We are slowly making our way north and we stopped for a week on Jekyll Island, GA. It is so incredibly beautiful here, and I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a relaxing beach trip. The unique thing is that the beach is super long with really hard packed sand, which is great for walking, running, and even bike riding!

Don't forget to take advantage of the buy one get one free sale in my Ravelry store before the end of the month! Thanks for joining me and see ya next time! ~Rachel

Newsletter February 16th, 2021: A new pattern to make you ❤️ your LEFTOVERS!

Leftover Love

Introducing Leftover Love, pattern No. 11 in the 20in20 collection!

I struggle getting rid of leftovers that are more than a couple yards long. Even though I know I probably won’t ever use them, I keep them anyway “just in case”. I gave away most of those little bits before hitting the road and moving into our RV full time, but the scraps are already building up again! This cowl is a way to use up those bits and make a cozy winter cowl!

The Leftover Love Cowl is different from other leftover patterns because you strand all of the yarns together and knit them on gigantic needles! It’s super fun to combine colors, and also incredibly quick to knit!

I've been finalizing the pattern for a warm and snuggly winter cowl that uses a bunch of strands of yarn held together. It's perfect for leftovers, and by stranding many different yarns together you can create a rainbow of different projects! Pattern coming soon. 😘

Where am I now?

We have been in south Florida for the last couple weeks, visiting Everglades National Park and the Fort Meyers Beach area. In between our regular work schedule we are alligator spotting, and searching for shark teeth (my new obsession)!

That's all for now! Thanks again for all your support and I'll see ya on the road! ~Rachel
