Snow and Ashes MKAL

Droughtlander is finally coming to an end! With the return of Jamie and Claire this March, I just had to do a traditional MKAL (mystery knit-a-long), and I am so excited to be using yarn specially dyed by Madelinetosh for Jimmy Beans Wool! This season, I was inspired by Marsali and Fergus; they are my favorite characters in the series, but I think they are a little underrated sometimes. So, I decided they would be my inspiration for the yarn colors and shawl pattern for this MKAL! Last season, Marsali wore a gorgeous purple dress, and those colors inspired the three colors that were dyed by Madelinetosh on the Tosh Merino Light Base.

The Snow and Ashes MKAL is a shawl and the pattern will be released in a series of clues beginning March 6th. It requires 3 colors of fingering weight yarn, in subtly contrasting colors. Grab a kit from JBW in the gorgeous Madelinetosh colors here! The patterning includes stripes, slipped stitches, and mosaic colorwork. Only one color is worked per row, and it is suitable for intermediate/adventurous beginners. I can’t wait for you all to join us on March 6th!

Current WIP

I’ll admit, I’ve been struggling with knitting mojo lately - does anyone else ever experience this? Anyway, I’ve finally got a couple really exciting projects on the needles that that I can’t wait to share over the next couple months. Here’s a sneak peak of one of them. That cable on the edge is everything!!! 🤩
